GCC got past host Malteenoes Sports Club (MSC) by four wickets yesterday in the second semi-final of the Georgetown Cricket Association’s (GCA) Carib Beer T20 first division cricket tournament to book a spot in the final against DCC on a date to be announced shortly.


Competitive cricket will make a return to the East Bank of Demerara as the East Bank Demerara Cricket Association (EBDCA) is set to bowl off a Twenty20 tournament for all teams affiliated to the EDBCA.


During the past week, seven youth teams from Georgetown had the opportunity for the first time to play under floodlights at the DCC Ground in Queenstown.


Skipper Bheemraj Ramkellawan and off-spinner Yuvraj Dyal were named top cricketers for 2014 for the Enmore Community Centre Cricket Club.


Despite challenges, the Georgetown Cricket Association enjoyed a fruitful 2014. The association staged tournaments for players at all levels.


The Lusignan Community Centre ground will be transformed into a festive atmosphere this Sunday when the long-awaited Ram Slam four-team 20/20 cricket competition is slated to come off.


Matches in the Georgetown Cricket Association NBS second division 40-overs and Banks Malta Supreme Under-l3 tournaments continue this weekend.
