Floodlight XI racked up a record total, while 8 batsmen registered centuries in what was truly a run-fest as action continued in the Stag Beer/ El Dorado Rum nationwide softball cricket competition recently.

Floodlight XI piled up 343 from their quota of 25 overs against Shattaville in the Over-40 category of the event with Ricky Deonarain (120*) and Tulshi Sahadeo (112*) scoring centuries in an unbroken partnership of 220. Richard Persaud was also among the runs, but was unfortunate to miss out on a hundred as he fell for 95. Shattaville made a strong reply, but fell way short of the target as they were restricted to 206-9 when the overs expired. Latchman Bharat made 88 not out, while Ramchand Ragbeer snared 4-39 for Floodlight XI.

Also scoring centuries were Jagdesh Persaud (108), Murphy Ramnauth (142), Mark Harold (111), Aftab Bacchus (102), Vivian Bissoon (102), and Ramo Malone (100).
