BCB, RHTYSC Launch Review Mag
The fourth edition of the Berbice Cricket Board Review Magazine was officially launched during a small ceremony last Thursday at the BCB head office, New Amsterdam.
The 24-page magazine was a joint production of the BCB Special Events Committee and the Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club and reviewed the work of the BCB for the period January 2011 to March 2012.
Chairman of the Special Events Committee and editor of the magazine Hilbert Foster hailed the launching of the 2011 Review Magazine as another red letter day for the BCB as it strives to inform shareholders of the game and the rapid developments taking place in Berbice Cricket.
Foster stated that the magazine includes five pictorial reviews, thirty seven articles on tournaments and programmes, a profile on promising Under-15 player Shimron Hetmyer, an acknowledgement to sponsors, the BCB financial statement and reports of the Special Events and Cricket Competitions Committees.
Foster disclosed that the magazine will be given to all shareholders in Berbice and Guyana’s cricket, schools, NGOs and sponsors of BCB. It will also be distributed in the Caribbean and North America in an effort to get other cricket organisations to emulate the work of the BCB.
Treasurer of the BCB Anil Beharry expressed gratitude to the sponsors who made the 2011 Review Magazine possible and expressed his profound satisfaction at the overall structure and development of Berbice cricket.
President of the BCB Keith Foster noted that the sharing of information is a priority of his administration since he believes in transparency and openness in leadership.
