The Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) has taken note of the unbecoming attitude of several cricketers who leave the County to fulfill contractual duties overseas without the courtesy of informing the BCB.

In a statement issued by the Board, declares that every player in Berbice, especially the seniors are fully aware of the requirements that their current clubs and the BCB must be informed through an official letter from the intended overseas club.

The Board has noted that several Berbice players including national and International players have failed to do so and as such the Board would be unable to contact them for any match or programme they intend to run.

The release went on further to state that some of the culpable players show ‘total disrespect’ to clubs that have invested heavily in their development, showing scant regards for the investment the clubs would have made in their development.

“The Berbice Cricket Board would like to inform the guilty players that with immediate effect that any player who leaves Guyana apart from West Indies duties must inform the Board. Failure to inform both Club and the Board will result in disciplinary action against such faulting players who will also not be considered for Berbice Selection.”
