As promised by GFSCA, this year's Guyana Cup tournament will be "Bigger and Better". The tournament has been expanded to accomodate more teams, because of high local interest. There will now be twelve teams in the Open Category and twelve teams in the Masters (over-40-yrs-old) Category.

The twelve teams in each Category will be divided into three zones and each team will play two games on Friday November 2nd and one on Saturday morning. The winner of each of the three zones per Category will advance to Category semi-finals, to be played on Saturday afternoon. The fourth team to advance to the semi-finals in each Category will be determined as follows.

If three local teams qualify for the semi-finals in a Category then the fourth spot will go to the overseas team that performed best in the preliminary rounds. If two local teams (and one overseas team) qualify then the fourth spot will go to the overseas team with the next best performance in the preliminary rounds.

On the other hand, If three overseas teams qualify for the semi-finals in a Category then the fourth spot will go to the local team that performed best in the preliminary rounds. If two overseas teams (and one local team) qualify then the fourth spot will go to the local team with the next best performance in the preliminary rounds.

The finals will be on November 4th, at the Everest Cricket Club ground, starting at 10 am. It is expected to be a day/night event.

You cannot miss this fun-filledĀ  day!
