Black Heads Achievers Youth & Sports Club

The incumbent David Black has retained his post of president of the Achievers Youth and Sports Club of West Berbice following the club’s Annual General Meeting recently.

Black will serve in that capacity for the next 12 months, during which his emphasis will be on the education of members of the youth component of the club, as well as community outreach programmes. Black, a long-serving cricket administrator, will have Zulfikar Bux as his deputy, while Carol Nurse will serve as Secretary.

Dillon Joseph, one of two new faces on the executive, has been elected to the post of assistant secretary, while national first class fast bowler Keon Joseph has been entrusted with the treasurer’s position. The other new member, Sherwyn McPherson, was elected as assistant treasurer.

Captains of the respective teams - from Under-13 to First Division - have also been appointed. The captains and their deputies are as follows:

  • Under-13: Jerry Angus (captain), Titus Webster (vice captain);
  • Under-15: Grisean Grant (captain), Osbert Cain (vice-captain);
  • Under-17: Quacy McPherson (captain), Lalchan Ramoo (vice-captain);
  • Under-19: Sherwin Peterkin (captain), Shardat Harripaul (vice-captain);
  • Under-23: Sherwyn McPherson (captain);
  • Second Division: Dwain Duke (captain); and
  • First Division: Krisendat Ramoo (captain), Arthley Bailey (vice-captain).
