Enmore Takes Lead

The Muslim Youth Organisation (MYO) Inter-Jamaat 10-over tapeball cricket competition sponsored by the Trophy Stall continued last weekend with Enmore emerging with two wins from as many games last Sunday at the MYO ground on Woolford Avenue, Georgetown.

The East Coast Demerara team defeated LBI A by 61 runs and Diamond by 41 runs. Also recording victories were Queenstown, LBI A. MYO gained a walk-over from Belle West Canal No 2, who failed to show up. Below are the summarised scores from the games.

Enmore defeated Diamond by 41 runs. Enmore 119-5 from 10 overs (Ejaz Hatim 41, Stephon Joseph 29, Abdul Salim 2-6). Diamond in reply were bowled out for 78 runs (Imtiaz Sultan 24, Inzaman Mohamed 19, Rehaz Yacoob 4-17 and Yusuf Muntaz 2-9).

Enmore defeated LBI A by 61 runs. Enmore 99-6 from 10 overs (Ejaz Hatim 34*, Ricardo Mahase 18, Akram Ali 4-24, Ravin Khan 2-9). LBI A 38 all out (Reaz Ali 10, Reyaz Yacoob 6-6 including a hat trick, Yusuf Muntaz 3-14).

LBI A won by 7 wickets over Wales: Wales 67-6 from 10 overs (Imran Khan 19, Javed Campbell 2-14, Akram Ali 1-5). LBI A in reply made 72-3 (Akram Ali 21*, Nizam Khan 14, Shoaib Ali 14).

Queenstown defeated Lusignan by 8 runs. Queenstown 127-3 from 10 overs (Dane Austin 40*, Imran Alli 34, Br. Farzan 2 for 13). Lusignan in reply made 119-2 off 10 overs (Abu Bakr 66*, Javed making 40, Dane Austin 2-20).

Meanwhile, the competition is set to continue on Sunday with 4 matches at the same venue.

  • LBI A will clash with Mocha;
  • Lusignan will play LBI B and
  • Grove and Farm will match skills with Lusignan.
