The Ramchand/Rohan Auto Spares softball competition finals are set for Sunday at the Demerara Cricket Club ground, Lance Gibbs Street, Queenstown, bringing an end to the 2014 softball season.

The Floodlights team will look to add to their trophy collection after winning the Masters category of the Guyana Softball Cup 4 in November.

This softball tournament is also sponsored by Mike’s Pharmacy, Trophy Stall, Ariel Enterprise, Bel Air Rubis, Motor Trend, Nauth’s Motor Spares and Romeo’s Oil Seal. It started on August 10 and will conclude with seven games on the day of the finals, which will end under floodlights.

The action will bowl off at 10:00 hours with the Female semi-finals featuring Mike’s Wellwoman and Karibee Girls on Pitch One and Trophy Stall Angels versus Blue Divas on Pitch Two.

This will be followed by the third place Male playoff involving Parika Defenders and Slingers on Pitch One and Farm against Ariel Uprisers on Pitch Two; both games starting at 11:15 hours.

The Female 10/10 final will get underway at 13:30 hours, followed by the Masters 20/20 final between Floodlights and Mike’s Wellman at 14:45 hours.

The Open 20/20 final, which will conclude under lights, will start at 18:00 hours, with reigning Guyana Softball Cup champions Wolf’s Warriors against losing Guyana Cup finalist Regal.

The top prize for both Male finals is $100,000, plus a trophy. The runner-up prize for both categories is $50,000 and a trophy. The Females will be playing for a top prize of $50,000, while the losing finalist will receive half that amount.

The Most Valuable Players of the Male finals will receive $10,000 each and a trophy. There will also be prizes for centuries and five-wicket haul in the tournament. Admission to the venue is $200, while parking in ground is $500 per vehicle.
