GSCL Competition Continues

The Georgetown Softball Cricket League (GSCL) in partnership with Regal Stationery and Computer Centre, Mike’s Copy Centre and Star Party Rentals will continue its Male and Female Open 12/12, and Men’s Over-35 20/20 competitions at various venues in Georgetown and its environs on Sunday.

At the Everest ground on Camp Road, Regal will take on Super Star XI at 09:30h and Everest will challenge Frontline Masters at 13:30h, both on Pitch One, in the Men’s Over-35 20/20.

At the same venue on Pitch Two in the Male Open 12/12, Wolf’s Warriors will tackle LBI Top Gun at 09:30h; Regal will face Success Warriors at 11:30h; Wolf’s Warriors will collide with Young Guns at 13:30h; and Regal will confront Better Hope at 15:30h.

At the GNIC ground on Woolford Avenue, action will continue with four games in the Female Open 12/12. At 09:30h, Trophy Stall Angels will trade skills with Lady Jags; Mike’s Wellwoman and 4R Lioness will square off at 11:30h; Trophy Stall Angels and Regal will clash at 13:30h and Mike’s Wellwoman and Lady Jags will close off proceedings at 15:30h.

Over at the Cyril Potter College of Education ground, seven games are carded for the venue. In the Male Open 12/12 on Pitch Two, Farm XI will face Trademan XI at 09:30h; Herstelling XI will tackle Challengers at 11:30h; Farm XI will play their second game of the day against Superior Woods at 13:30h, and Herstelling will take on Princess XI at 15:30 hours.

In the Men’s Over-35 20/20 on Pitch One, Superior Woods will play Accomplishment at 09:30h; Bedi Ramjewan XI will take on Park Rangers at 11:30h and Success Masters will collide with Savage Masters at 14:00h.

In the Female Open 12/12 and the Men’s Over-35 20/20, the teams are vying for a top prize of $100,000, while the runners-up will receive $50,000. The top prize in the Male Open 12/12 is $200,000, with the second place team collecting $100,000. All the cash prizes are accompanied by trophies.

One of the organisers, Samuel Kingston, said the competition has been progressing well. He noted that Sunday’s games are expected to be keenly contested as all the teams will be looking to enhance their chances of copping the titles in the respective categories.
