GT Bannas Beat Floodlights

In a match held in honour of the proprietor of the Trophy Stall, Ramesh Sunich, who was celebrating his birth anniversary, the Floodlight XI went down to the touring GT Bannas team of Canada in a feature softball game on Friday evening.

Playing at the Everest Cricket Club ground, Camp Road, Sunich’s team Floodlight XI mustered 190 all out in reponse to the visitors’ imposing 258-8 from the allotted 25 overs.

S Ramnauth (50), N Khan (36) and B Doodnauth (20) were the leading scorers for GT Bannas, while Rohan Boojraj and Ramchand Ragbeer took 3-50 and 3-54 respectively for Floodlight XI. When Floodlight XI batted, Imtiaz Mohamed led all scorers with 69, while Ricky Deonarine made 25 and Sunich 15 not out.

Trophies for the winning team and runner-up, as well as top individual performers were all donated by the Trophy Stall of Bourda Market and the City Mall.
