Kanhai, Barlow Hammer England

SOUTH AFRICAN Eddie Barlow and West Indian Rohan Ranhai hammered the England XI's attack at Scarborough yesterday afternoon and helped the Rest of the World to score 213 for two wickets at the close of play on the second day of the "prestige" match.

Earlier England were all out for 201 - 134 behind the Rest of the World's first Innings total of 335 for six declared. With one day remaining, the Rest of the World have a commanding lead and should press home their advantage this morning.

Barlow featured In two useful stands late in the day. He and opener Seymour Nurse put on 66 for the first wicket before Surrey bowler Geoff Arnold had Nurse leg-before. Then Barlow and Rohan Kanhai put on 118 for the second wicket before Barlow was another Arnold victim after scoring 91.
