L’Aventure In Both Finals

Both L’Aventure Boys and Girls teams made it to the finals of this year’s Ministry of Culture, Youth & Sport (MCYS) / National Sports Commission (NSC) / Al Sport & Tour Promotions Secondary Schools Windball Cricket Championships after defeating their respective opponents in semi-final action on Thursday evening, at the National Gymnasium.

In Boys semi-final action:

L’Aventure beat IBE by 10 wickets. IBE sent into bat first ended on 77-1 with Brian Sattaur 42 and Travin Persaud 16, being the main contributors. Travis Cato had 1-28. In reply, L’Aventure reached 81-0. Safraz Esau hit 42 and T. Cato 30.

Covent Garden then beat Monar Educational Institute (Region 3) by 41 runs. Covent Garden made 77-3 batting first with Mark Rhobe 26, Kenrick Parris 14, and Sheldon Chapman 10. Monar in their turn at the crease were restricted to 36-6. David Rambarran stroked 16 and Stephon Somrab 12. Safraz Fazal took 2-16.

In Girls semi-final action:

Central High romped to a comfortable 10 wickets win over Queenstown Secondary. Queenstown Secondary invited to bat first made 58-2 with Shyannd Subrattie 23, Lesa Headley 21. Towanna Thompson 1-21 & Akisha Odai 1-20. Central in reply, 60-0 off 2.3 overs T. Thompson 27, A Odai 18.

L’ Aventure upset Covent Garden to reach their first final after winning by 23 runs. L’Aventure compiled 92-1, Tishana Douglas 51 not out, Satyawattie Sugrim 36. Covent Garden replied with 69-2, Esther Barker 21, Devika Sukhnandan 20, Nurvani Tiwari 15. T Douglas 1-11.

The final s is set for Tuesday, at the same venue.
