The cold weather and puddles of water on the ground did not deter spectators from witnessing Mike’s Wellwoman getting the better of Trophy Stall Angels in the final of the female exhibition match which was played last Sunday night under lights at the Everest cricket Club.

Batting first, Trophy Stall Angels were in early trouble when they lost 2 wickets for 1 run in 2 overs. They eventually made 59 off their allotted 10 overs. R. Demonte top scored with 9 runs, while H. Mohamed was the pick of the bowlers with 4 wickets for 6 runs off 2 overs.

Mike’s Wellwoman reached their target (60) for the loss of 5 wickets in the final delivery of the tenth over, but they had to work hard for their runs. O Wallerson and A. Thompson held the innings together with 18 and 12 respectively, while T. Nero and K. Yadram took one wicket each.

O. Wallerson was adjudged Player of the Match and received a trophy. For winning, Mike’s Wellwoman took away $50,000 and a trophy while Trophy Stall Angels were rewarded with $25,000 and a trophy.

Earlier in the day Regal Masters won the Masters’ Cup and Cotton Field Wild Oats took the Guyana Cup Open.

The event, which was deemed a success by organisers, was sponsored by Trophy Stall, Survival Supermarket, Digicel, Mike’s Pharmacy, Clear Waters, Steve’s Jewellery, Bel Air Texaco Gas Station, and Guyana Beverages Company through its Busta soft drink brand.
