An enterprising 83 runs third wicket partnership between Vedish Singh and Suresh Gopal, enabled Rose Hall Canje (RHC) to crush Bermine and virtually book a place in the semi-finals of the Gilgeous Pawnshop 10th Anniversary Under-19 20/20 tournament.

Batting first after winning the toss, Bermine were restricted by tight bowling from the Canje bowlers and reached 110 for 8 off their allotted overs. Tregon Henry 17 and Steven De Fraites 13 were the main scorers for Bermine against the bowling of Odesh Imrit 3-15 and and Singh 2-13. In reply, Rose Hall Canje struggled to 39 for 2 in ten overs before Singh and Gopal joined forces and took the Bermine attack apart, hitting the ball to all parts of the small ground.

When RHC finished on 112-2 from 18.4 overs, Singh was unbeaten on 44 not out (4×4; 3×6) and Gopal 41 not out, scoring their runs from a mere 8.4 overs. Off spinner Andel De Jonge (1-7) and Steven Sinclair (1-13) were the wicket takers for Bermine.

RHC will now face Scottsburg in the semifinals on Wednesday.
