Rose Hall Estate defeat Betsy Ground
Rose Hall Estate Primary demolished Betsy Ground Primary by 97 runs in the East Canje Zone boys’ final of the GT&T Inter-Primary Schools five-overs Windball Competition at the All Saints Primary school ground on Tuesday.
An unbeaten 53 from Arvin Persaud propelled Rose Hall Estate Primary to a massive 120/0. Persaud hit five fours and two sixes in his half century. He got good support from Dinesh Haimchandradi who hit 40 which included four boundaries, including one towering six.
In their reply, Betsy Ground only managed 23-4 when their overs expired.
Also on Tuesday, Edingburg Primary got past St. Aloysius Primary in the New Amsterdam Zone boys’ final. Batting first, St. Aloysius reached 35-4 with Joshes Butts making 13 and Omar Crawford 11. Teon George picked up 3-2.
In reply, Edingburg led by 20 from Sherwin Nicholson, reached 39-4 with four balls remaining. Tyrese Rose and Omar Crawford took two wickets for four runs each.
In the New Amsterdam Zone female final, All Saints Primary won with one ball to spare against St. Aloysius Primary. St. Aloysius posted 42-1 with Shaina Barth scoring 14 and Danelli Lindy 10. In reply All Saints reached 43-1 off 4.5 overs. Danelli Hazel and Ashanna Junior made 10 and 16 respectively.
Meanwhile the regional final will take place on Saturday at the Skeldon Community High School ground. And in the regional semifinal, also on Saturday, in the first match, Betsy Ground girls will take on All Saints followed by Albion Primary and No. 48 Primary battling in the next semi.
And in the boys’ semifinal, Auckline Primary will meet Rose Hall Estate Primary while Messiah Primary will take on Edingburg. The losing semifinalists will meet in a third place play off.
