Schools Super Sixes Start Today
Barabina and Wauna Primary Schools have the honour of play ing in the first ever Super Sixes cricket competition, which bowls off at 15: 00 hours today at the Barabina Primary School ground in Region One.
Five teams will be battling over the next two months for a top prize of $30, 000 and a championship trophy. The second and third placed teams will receive $20,000 and $15,000 respectively, while the other teams will be given Certificates of Participation.
Match Two tomorrow would see Hosororo Primary taking on Mabaruma Primary School while on Wednesday Wauna Primary School would face Mabaruma Primary. The other school in the competition is North West Secondary, who have drawn the bye to the second round. They will go into action from February 4. The finals will be played on February 18.
The competition’s rules state that each team will play a maximum of six overs per match. However, the rules could change depending on the time available or should the weather interfere.
All teams are asked to be present at the playing venue at least an hour be fore the starting time.
