Several Teams Win In Windball
The Upper Corentyne/Black Bush Polder zone of the 15th annual nationwide End-of-School-year Primary School Windball championships commenced recently with several teams recording wins at the Bush Lot Farm ground.
The Sport Ministry/National Sports Commission/Guyana Telephone and Telegraph Company/AL Sport and Tour Promotions sponsored activity is organised by Sport Officer Allister Munroe.
Below are the summarised scores from the female games.
In the Girls category, Wellington Park failed on their return to the sport after four years. Batting first, they made 23-1 in wet conditions and Number 36 duly knocked off the target, scoring 24-1 with Tishana Prince getting 10.
In the other female game, Kildonan made 31-1 with Abehola D’Aguiar scoring 17. Auchlyne in reply, reached 35-3 with Shamarna Cort scoring 10 and Rachel Dipnarine picking up 2-4.

Auchlyne defeated Wellington Park by 10 wickets. Wellington Park 34-6 (Alex Quintine 15, Shane Campbell two wickets, Surendra Budhoo three wickets) Auchlyne 35-0 (Surendra Budhoo 14, Aaron Mangal 11).
Number 36 Primary defeated Eversham by two runs. Number 36 Primary 70-4 (Dancel Gajadar 21, Akash Saywack 18) Eversham 68-6 (Shaquelle Veloza 10, Dancel Gajadar four wickets, Akash Saywack two wickets).
Johanna defeated Alness by eight wickets in a match reduced to three overs due to rain. Alness 17-4; Johanna 20-2 from 2.3 overs (Chris Anthony 10).
Action in the other zones is set to continue at various venues across the country this week.
