T&T Defeat Guyana By D/L

T&T defeated Guyana by eight runs under the Duckworth-Lewis Method , after an unexpected torrential rainstorm brought an early close to their match at Kensington Park in the Jamaica capital.

T&T again suffocated their opponents’ batting, as Guyana decided to bat, and were restricted to a modest 76 for six from their 20 overs with Felicia Walters the most successful bowler with 2-9 from four overs. No Guyanese batter reached 20, but Melanie Henry scored 18 not out and Shemaine Campbelle, the West Indies Women’s player, made 18.

The weather made a dramatic turn for the worse, when T&T returned to chase, with sunny skies giving way to dark clouds and gale force winds.

T&T survived losing opener Lee Ann Kirby for 11 and West Indies Women’s batter Britney Cooper for one, staying in front of the D/L Par Score until the weather interrupted on 33 for two after seven overs.
