The Guyana Softball Cup 4 got off to a riveting start on Friday with centuries from L Marks and J Persaud highlighting the first day of play in Georgetown.

Marks’ dashing 105 spurred Farm XI to a huge 135-run win over Karibee Boys in the Open division, while Persaud’s even hundred was a losing cause for East Coast against Regal in the Masters category.

South Florida Softball League beat Parika All Stars by 7 wickets.  Parika 93 all out in 18.1 overs (S.Ramnauth 3-18) South Florida 94-3 in 12.2 overs.

Wolf Warriors beat Corriverton by 4 wickets. Corriverton 173 all out in 20 overs (Dharshan Challitor 56, Ameer 3-11) Wolf Warriors 174-6 in 19.5 overs (Amit Rai 36*).

Farm XI beat Karibee Boys by 135 runs. Farm XI 236-4 in 20 overs (L Marks 105, A Sukdeo 38) Karibee Boys 101 all out (S Ishmeal 3-15).

Dant’s XI beat Uprisers by 4 wickets. Uprisers 176-9 in 19.3 overs (Chris Patadin 62, W Edwards 4-19) Dant’s XI 177-6 in 20 overs (S.Deosaran 59).

Regal Stationery beat NYSCL All Star by 7 wickets. NYSCL 119  all out in 19.3 overs (F.Rafeek 4-14) Regal 121-3 in 17.2 overs (Chien Gittens 38).

Petamber Enterprises beat Cotton Field Wild Oats by 6 wickets. Cotton Field 113 all out in 16.1 overs (N. Ragunandan 4-24) Petamber Enterprises 114-4 in 15 overs (D Deosaran 51, T.Sahadeo 45).

Regal Stationery beat South Florida SL by 3 wickets. South Florida 94 all out in 18.4 overs (R Latiff and S Budhu 3 wickets each) Regal 99-7 in 17.4 overs (Richard Latiff 31).

Petamber Enterprises beat Farm XI by 2 wickets. Farm XI 117 all out in 16.5 overs (L Marks 41) Petamber Enterprises 118-8 in 18.5 overs (M Zamal 29).

Karibee Boys beat Cotton Field Wild Oats by 13 runs. Karibee Boys 174-8 in 20 overs (J Mohamed 60, R Parsaram 3-30) Cotton Field 161-9 in 20 overs (S Governor 43, L Balgobin and L Versamy 3 wickets each).

Uprisers beat Corriverton by 4 wickets. Corriverton 167 all out in 18.3 overs (D Chillitar 45, W Mohamed and Chinapen 3 wickets each) Uprisers 169-6 in 19 overs (R Malone 49).

Floodlights beat Brooklyn/Queens by 125 runs. Floodlights 188-7 in 20 overs (U Yussuf 40, Wayne Jones 34, R Mathura 4-34) Brooklyn/Queens 63 all out in 14 overs (P Hussain 3-4, E Mohamed 3-24).

New York Seaview beat NYSCL Legends by 26 runs. Seaview made 184-8 in 20 overs. (R Rambrack 77, A Ali 4-28) NYSCL Legends made 158-7 in 20 overs (R Edwards 54).

Ontario Softball International beat Orlando Masters by 5 wickets. Orlando Masters 126-9 in 19.3 overs (Sham Verasammy 54, Tony Singh 3-27) Ontario 128-5 in 15.4 overs (S Seeram 39).

Parika Defenders beat Ontario Softball International by 3 wickets. Ontario 119-9 in 20 overs (M Harikan 32, M Safie 3-15) Parika Defenders 120-7 in 20 overs (O Chandela 28.    S.Seeram 4-27).

East Coast Masters beat South Florida SCL by 84 runs. East Coast  199-7 in 20 overs (J Persaud 40, D Harper 39) SFSCL 113 all out in 17.2 overs (M Ramsaywack 3-20).

NY Better Hope beat Parika Defenders by 9 runs. Better Hope 187-6 in 20 overs (K Sanichar 39,  R Rambarose 3-23) Parika Defenders 178-9 in 20 overs (O Chanda 52).

Regal  Masters beat Brooklyn Queens by 7 wickets. Brooklyn Queens 115 all out in 20 overs. Regal 121-3 in 12.5 overs (R Baker 60).

The competition will continue today with the final rounds of games to decide the finalists of the two categories.
