Wakenaam Cricket Committee U-19 cricket

A fine half century by skipper Seon Venture guided West Wakenaam to a 3 wicket victory over East Wakenaam in the Wakenaam Cricket Committee U-19 40 overs cricket match played last Saturday at Good Success. Set 173 for victory, West Wakenaam achieved their target in 31.2 overs for the lost of 7 wickets.  Venture led from the front with an attractive 65 which contained eight fours.  Tamesh Charritar also supported with 13n.o.

Eon Osborne and Ryan Cornette picked up two wickets each for East Wakenaam who had earlier made 172 all out off their allotted 35 overs after the game was reduced by five overs due to a late start. Rajendra Tulsie top scored with 37 while Zahyaid Khan contributed 26 and Hemnauth Seeraj 21.  Omal Bacon, Ricardo Adams and Moin Khan took two wickets each for the winners.

At the end of the game coach Zaheer Mohamed encouraged the players to take the game seriously and to continue to train hard.  He also stressed about the importance of discipline and fitness.
