Abdool Razack and National U-17 captain, Travis Persaud, slammed centuries as McGill Super Stars mauled Western Tigers by 228 runs in the West Demerara Cricket Association 40-Over Cricket Competition, played last Sunday at the Okoo Cricket ground in Canal No.1.

The match was reduced to 30 overs per side as the outfield was wet due to overnight showers. Super Stars won the toss and elected to bat and amassed 315/3 in their allotted overs. Razack powered 10 boundaries and nine sixes in his 117, while Persaud hammered 13 boundaries and three sixes in his 103. Together they added 256 unbeaten for the third wicket.

Western United wicket takers were Devanand Jailall with 2/50 off four overs and Shivdat Motie with 1/60 off six overs.

In their reply, Western United was bundled out for a meager 87. Devanand Jailall top scored with 24 which included two sixes. Rohan Maygoo contributed 20 (2×4, 1×6) and Devon Cummings 16 (3×4).

Bowling for Super Stars, Captain Sudesh Persaud grabbed 3/11, Rajiv Tiwary 3/12, Daniel Basdeo 2/18 and Balram Aaron 2-17.

At the Wales Community Centre ground, Jasper United registered a 10 run victory over Wales CDC. This match was reduced to 20 overs per side as the ground was also wet after overnight rain.

Batting first, Jasper United made 139/4 with Lennox Andrews scoring 50 and Ryan Hemraj 41. Bowling for Wales CDC, Vishnu Sue captured 3/24 off four overs.

In response, Wales CDC only managed 129/9 in their 20 overs. Jasper United’s Michael Realie and Garcia Henry captured three and two wickets respectively.
