Windball Championship Continues
The Ministry of Sport/National Sports Commission/Al Sport and Tour Promotions’ 15th annual nationwide Primary Schools Windball championship continued recently with several matches at various venues across the country.

Vryheid’s Lust defeated Plaisance by five runs. Vryheid’s Lust 54-3 (Gavin Persaud 16, Sachin Harriram 11) Plaisance 49-2 (Shaquille Wright 26).
Annandale defeated Strathspey by seven wickets. Strathspey 32-1 (Rafeal Whittington 15, Shamash London 11) Annandale 33-3 (Joemal Wills 13).
Mon Repos defeated La Bonne Intention by ten wickets. LBI 28-6; Mon Repos 29-0 (Amir Pooran 14, Jaspaul Ramkaran 13).

Ann’s Grove defeated Gibson by nine wickets in the Girls’ final. Gibson 33-0 (Jasmine Collins 15, Annaya Primo 10) Ann’s Grove 34-1 (Shondel Boucher 12).

Below are the summarised scores from the Wakenaam Islands final, played at Seeram’s Hard Court in Bel Plain. Arthurville Primary made a clean sweep of both the Girls and Boys categories.
In the Girls’ final, Arthurville defeated defending champions San Souci by six wickets. San Souci 40-5 (Rachel Smith 11, Tiscena Harry 3-8) Arthurville 41-4 (Rachel Smith 2-7).
In the Boys’ final, Arthurville again ousted the defending champions San Souci by 11 runs. Arthurville 44-5 (Shaquille Sealy 15, Romel Stephen 10) San Souci 33-3 (Simon St Hill two wickets). The competition is slated to continue at various venues countrywide.
