Blairmont Community Centre CC
Blairmont Centre Cricket Club is located in Blairmont, a sugar estate on the west bank of the Berbice river, about 5 miles from the Atlantic Ocean. Blairmont has produced two West Indies Test cricketers: Roy Fredericks and Brandon Bess. The club ground has also been the venue for regional matches.
England played a first class match against Berbice at Blairmont in 1960. Nevertheless, in 1987 efforts got underway "to convert Blairmont Sugar Estate sports ground into a well-equipped venue for Shell Shield and other cricket matches of regional and international levels".
In 1989 the Guyana county final, between Berbice and Demerara was played here. At this venue Guyana played first class matches against Trinidad and Tobago in 1993 and the Leewards in 1994. A total of 9 List A matches were also played here, from 1994 to 2001. Another was played in 2011.
Blairmont Cricket Club was dormant from sometime after 2001 to 26 May 2010, when it was reactivated.
Businessman Shabeer Baksh was re-elected unopposed as president for another year when the Blairmont Cricket Club (BCC) held its Annual General Meeting at the Club’s Blairmont West Bank Berbice headquarters.
Baksh, who is also an executive member of the Berbice Cricket Board, will be assisted by Angad Ganesh as first vice-president and Nanrandranauth Boodram as the second vice-president.
The secretary was Ricardo Bachan, Shizad Ali would be Treasurer and Kevon Jawahir would be Assistant Secretary/Treasurer.
The elected executive met on 28 February 2013 to appoint three other executives and form committees, including the Disciplinary Committee, Selection, Finance and a Special Event Committees.
Baksh stated that in 2012 there were several coaching sessions, food sales, cricket summer academy and outreach charity programmes, which helped to improve the image of the club.
The club participated in all BCB competitions and had representatives in Berbice teams in all the age groups, including the Under-15, Under-17, Under-19 and Under-21 levels.
In February 2013 the club was waiting for the weather to improve, to participate in junior level quarter-final matches. Blairmont CC won the BCB Under-21 and Western Berbice Association Under-23 competitions. The first division team qualified for the playoffs in the Carib Beer 20/20 competition, topping their zone. The first division team also won three of its four matches in the current Telenec 50-overs (2012) competition.
The club expressed thanks to Banks DIH, Universal DVD and Solutions, Berbice Cricket Board, Sterling Products, Baksh Travel Service, Basil and Son’s CD and DVD Store and Chowramottoo Construction and the various media houses for the support and cooperation given during 2012.

- (2 Feb at Blairmont) Group B. Blairmont defeated Police by 2 wickets. Police 130 in 39.3 overs (D Farley 29 and C Grimmond 26, K Jawahir took 4-34, D Prashad 3-35). Blairmont 131-8 in 35.2 overs (N Ramsaroop 30*, D Prashad 29, A Sewkarran 23, A Doris 3-21, Q Mickle 2-30).
Division 2 NBS 40-Overs:

Blairmont Community Centre A 213-7 in 40 overs ( R Sutherland 47, A Sewkarran 40, S Baksh 38, G Birdgelall 3-20). Blairmont Community Centre B 72 in 35 overs (O Mangal 36, P Ramdhan 5-16, A Subhan 2-13).

The club participated in all cricket competitions in Berbice and had representatives in the Berbice teams in all age groups, including two at the Under-15 level, one at the Under-17 level, two at the Under-19, while three (Brendon Bess, Romesh Boodram and Karamdatt Bissoondyal) represented Berbice at the Senior Inter county level. Also, a member made the Guyana Youth Conquerors team.
Bess has been a member of the Sagicor High Performance Centre for the past two years. He also went on to represent Guyana in 2008 and the West Indies in 2010. Best is only the Second Player from Blairmont behind the late great Roy Fredericks to have represented the West Indies.
At the end of January 2011, a 4-team 20-overs-a-side fundraising tournament was held at Blairmont.
In April 2012, Chowramootoo Construction, a private company from Rosignol (about 3 mile north of Blairmont), provided G$50,000 and 32 shirts to the club, as sponsorship for the club's Under-15 and Under-19 teams. Chowramootoo Construction also stated that it hoped to assist the club with other youth programs.

There were several cricket and domino competitions, coaching sessions, and food sales, while an award ceremony and outreach charity programmes were also held in 2011.
Blairmont participated in all the competitions for 2011. At the Under-13 level the club reached the semi-final, while at the Under-17 level it lost in the quarter-finals. At the senior level, in three completed competitions, Blairmont reached the semi-final on two occasions, being defeated on both occasions by Berbice champion Rose Hall Town Youth and Sports Club.
