Professor Aubrey Bishop represented Guyana in two first class matches in 1952, both against Jamaica at Bourda. He was Chairman of the Competitions Committee of the Guyana Cricket Board at one time.

He was called to the English Bar in July 1963 and has had a distinguished legal career in Guyana, becoming Chancellor and Head of the Judiciary in 1996. Upon demitting office, Professor Bishop assumed a full-time Professorship of Law at the University of Guyana. He has been a FIFA International Soccer Referee and also represented Guyana at soccer.

Professor Bishop was awarded the Cacique's Crown of Honour and the Order of Roraima, Guyana's third and second highest awards, respectively.
