Jonathan Foo made his debut for Guyana in the 2005 CLICO West Indies Under-15 Tournament, played in Trinidad and Tobago. Though he had very little success with bat and ball at the Under-15 level he was in the 2007 and 2008 Guyana Under-19 teams. He still had little success, except for a knock of 87 against the Leewards, at Pinelands in Barbados, which was his only half-century in youth cricket.
He first represented his county Berbice in 2009, in Limited Overs cricket. He enjoyed considerble success in this format and was chosen to represent Guyana in the 2010 T20 regional tournament. Almost single-handedly he took Guyana to several victories, and the Champions League tournament in South Africa, when all seemed lost with stupendous power hitting late in the innings. Foo and Guyana, however, could not repeat the late-innings fireworks in South Africa and Guyana lost all its matches.
Foo represented Berbice in T20 cricket late in 2010 and Guyana again in the 2011 Caribbean T20 tournament, but with very modest success in both cases. In 2011 Foo was contracted to represent Diamond Cricket Club in Trinidad.
