Keith moved to the fifth form in Queen's College in 1965, from Central High School and soon became captain of the Wight Cup team, participating in second division cricket. In 1966 he became vice-captain of the Northcote Cup team, playing intermediate division cricket, and represented the Guyana Schoolboy's team in an international series.
In 1968 he represented the Guyana Colts team against the touring England Test team, before captaining the Guyana Under-20 team in regional British American Tobacco youth competition. In the first match he kept wicket and batted at No 3. For the remainder two matches of the tournament he opened the batting but gave up his wicket keeping duties to S Primo. He enjoyed moderate success as a batsman.
He also obtained passes at three GCE A Level subjects, including distinctions in Pure Maths and Physics.
Keith's brother Julian Aaron also represented Guyana at the Under-19 level.
