At Everest, Essequibo were flawless at the toss and decided to take first strike. Norman (21) and Royan Federicks (7) put together 21 for the opening stand. Medium pacer Kellon Carmichael, however, removed them both in the space of 10 runs to leave the score on 31. Dillon Heyliger and Ricardo Adams took the total to 57 before Adams was caught off Robin Bacchus for 18.
Essequibo then lost a few more wickets including that of Heyliger for 20 (2×4) before Vijay Surujpaul and Anthony Adams featured in the biggest partnership of their team’s innings, 47 for the 8th wicket. Left arm spinner Totaram Bishun then removed Adams for 25 (3×4, 1×6) while Surujpaul went for 40, inclusive of four fours. Carmichael 3-35, Bishun 3-28 and Amir Khan 2-32 were the men mainly responsible for Essequibo being bowled for 167 in 48.3 overs.
Demerara were off to a bright start with Robin Bacchus and Shemroy Barrington putting together 66 for the first wicket. Bacchus who stroked six fours was the first to go when he trapped in front by off spinner Royan Federicks for 35. Rajendra Chandreka joined Barrington and took the score to 78 before Chandreka was leg before to Anthony Adams for 28(3×4) who also trapped Barrington for 19 (1×4) at 97. Chanderpaul Hemraj (6*) and Vishal Singh (3*) safely negotiated the closing overs as Demerara ended the day on 103-3 in 41 overs.

At Everest, Demerara resumed on their overnight score of 103-3, with Vishal Singh on 3 and Chanderpaul Hemraj on 6. They took the total to 132 before they were dismissed in quick succession to leave their team in trouble at 132-5.
Zaheer Mohamed and Joseph Perry then featured in a 6th wicket stand of 112 before Perry went after lunch for 26 at 244. Left-arm spinner Henry Green trapped Kellon Carmichael lbw for 0 and Mohamed for 76 (7x4, 2x6) as Demerara lost two more wickets without addition to the score.
Adams wrapped up the innings by removing Andre Stoll for 7 and Totaram Bishun for as Demerara were bowled out just after tea for 259 in 106.4 overs. Amir Khan was left not out on 5. Adams, who bowled with good control and variation, finished with 6-63, while Green had 2-59 and Royan Federicks 2-34.
With a deficit of 92, Essequibo in their second innings, lost Royan who was caught off Carmichael for 10, but Norman Federicks and Dillon Heyliger batted patiently to see them at stumps without further loss on 72-1 after 23 overs. Norman is on 33 (2×4) while Heyliger is 25 (5×4).

Demerara defeated Essequibo by 8 wickets when play in the Guyana Cricket Board Senior four-day Inter County tournament continued.
At Everest, Essequibo resumed on their overnight total of 72-1 with Norman Federicks on 33 and Dillon Heyliger on 25, they took the score to 83 before Federicks was bowled by pacer Andre Stoll without addition to his score.
Leg-spinner Amir Khan removed Ricardo Adams for 14 (2×6) and Herrell Green for 0, while Kellon Carmichael dismissed Wayne Osborne for 0, to leave Essequibo in trouble at 116-4. Heyliger however continued to play his shots and soon reached a well deserved half century before he was caught off Totaram Bishun for 57 (8×4) at 129.
Essequibo then lost Anthony Adams and Kenzo Baksh in quick succession to be at 132-8. Surajpaul and Herry Green however added 18 for the 9th wicket with Surajpaul reaching his fifty which included six fours. Green was then run out for 6 before Surajpaul departed for 54 leaving Roopesh Motilall not out on 2. Essequibo was all out for 187 in 55 overs. Bishun grabbed 3-48, Amir Khan 3-61 and Carmichael 2-24.
With 96 required for victory Demerara lost Shemroy Barrington for 10 (27-1) and Chanderpaul Hemraj for 1 (37-2). Robin Bacchus who slammed six fours along with Vishal Singh with 21 not out saw their team to victory in the 26th over just after tea, finishing on 97-2. Anthony Adams and Herry Green were the wicket takers for Essequibo.
