Demerara defeated the President's XI by 128 runs in the second round of the Guyana Cricket Board senior inter county 50 over competition. Demerara scored 199 for 7 off 50 overs. The President's XI was then dismissed for 71 in 30.4 overs.

At Everest, Demerara won the toss and elected to bat. Openers Shemroy Barrington and Rajendra Chandreka posted 92 for the first wicket before Barrington was caught on the long-off boundary by Brandon Bess off Raj Nanan for 43(3×4, 80 balls). Chanderpaul Hemraj and Chandreka took the score to 144 but Hemraj was run out for 28 (4x4, 39 balls), attempting a second run. Chandreka followed 9 runs later, caught off pacer Brandon Bess for 63 (2x4, 2x6).

Demerara then lost Vishal Singh for 4 with the score at 157 and Ryan Ramdass for 10 at 165. Zaheer Mohamed with 25 (2×6, 21 balls) not out, Robin Bacchus with 4, Andre Stoll with 0 and Joseph Perry with 3 not out, however, took Demerara to 199-7 off 50 overs, after being 176 for 7. Eugene La Fleur took 9-2-38-2 while Bess, Nanan, Stephen Latcha and Devon Clements had one wicket each. Latcha bowled the final over, which cost 16 runs.

In reply the President XI lost Tagenarine Chanderpaul for 8, caught behind off Paul Wintz with the score at 12. Kevon Boodie was then run out for 0 and Elton Baker was bowled by Paul Wintz with the score on 22-3 in the 8th over. Leg spinner Amir Khan then removed Anthony Bramble for 4 and opener Krishna Arjune for 9 (39 balls), to take the score to 40-5 in the 13th over. Skipper La Fleur was then bowled off the inside edge by Robin Bacchus for 0.

Though Devon Clements was left unbeaten on 27 and Extras came up to 13, the President XI never recovered and was routed for 71 in 30.4 overs. Zaheer Mohamed took 2-15 off 4.4 overs, Khan 7-3-7-2, Wintz -2-8 off 5 overs, Chanderpaul Hemraj 2-8 and Bacchus 1-14.

Demerara now has 8 points from 2 matches, and is ahead of Berbice and the President’s XI, on 4 points each from two matches. Essequibo is yet to gain a point, after consecutive losses to Demerara and Berbice.
