1974: WI Retain Wisden Trophy

Under the captaincy of Rohan Kanhai, the West Indies toured England in 1973 and regained the Wisden Trophy – their first success in seven years going back to 1967.

Kanhai In Record 465 Stand

LONDON, July 28. - ­West Indian Rohan Kan­hai and Englishman John Jameson yesterday set a world record second-wicket stand of 465 runs playing for Warwickshire against Gloucestershire in the English county cricket championship. The previous record of 455 was set by Indians K. V. Bhandarkar and B. B. Nimbalkar at Poona in the 1948-49 season.
