Sen Gopaul

Sen Gopaul was a right-arm leg-spinner and useful lower order batsman who made his debut for the Guyana Under-19 team in the 1975 Benson & Hedges Regional Youth competition, in Trinidad & Tobago. He also played in the final against Barbados, in Barbados.

BCB U-17 Inter-Secondary Tourney

The Berbice Cricket Board (BCB) on Wednesday launched the A Ally and Sons Under-17 Inter-Secondary School tournament.

Georgetown Inter-School Cricket

RESULTS of matches played last Friday in the Georgetown District Inter-school cricket competition at TTC ground were:

Sacred Heart RC 26. J Willis 14, R Chan 5 for 12. St Stephens 32. S Nurse 19, J Alves 4 for 3, and secondly 64 for 2. S Nurse 36 not out. Sacred Heart 6 points.

GCA Competitions This Weekend

Matches in the Georgetown Cricket Association NBS second division 40-overs and Banks Malta Supreme Under-l3 tournaments continue this weekend.

Tour Of Suriname

A 15-MEMBER Third Class Cricket Association team will leave Guyana on the 22nd of this month to play a series of matches in Nickerie and Paramaribo. Both the team and the itinerary will be announced later. A Nickerie Cricket Board of Control Under-19 team will be hosted by the Guyana Third Class Cricket Association in August.

Under-19s Win in Nickerie

THE Georgetown Third Class Under-19 cricket team enjoyed tremendous success on their recent tour to Nickerie, Suriname. The twelve-man team won three of the four one-day fixtures which were keenly contested.

President Visits Under-15 Players

President Bharrat Jagdeo yesterday took leave from his busy schedule to meet Guyana’s under-15 cricketers, prior to the launch of the team’s encampment.
